Since it's chilly and windy in California, you can't avoid wind burns and dry skin every now and then. Take care of yourself during the nippy fall season.
Face:
Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for Dry, Sensitive Skin 16oz.
$13.11
I use Cetaphil moisturizing cream for my face and extremities. Cetaphil locks in the moisture in my skin and being fragrance free and noncomedogenic, it won't clog your pores and reduces breakouts. My skin has become far more supple and smooth that my husband noticed it. I use it twice a day; once in the morning and again before bed time. The cream keeps your skin well hydrated throughout the day as it’s proven to bind water to your skin to prevent moisture loss. Unlike other brands, Cetaphil isn’t greasy after the application. I like that the formula has a thick consistency as compared to the watery ones. You'll notice the difference after a week.
This also worked well in healing the burn on my arm. I apply the cream on my feet at night and seal in the moisture by wearing socks afterwards.
Lips:
Chapstick Medicated Lipbalm
$1.79
The same goes for the medicated Chapstick. My lips felt cool because of the menthol in the lip balm and eventually healed. It helps soothes the pain and locks moisture in your lips. Since it’s a medicated lip balm, you shouldn’t use it more than twice a day. If you feel the need to moisturize your lips even further during the day, use regular lip balm or petroleum jelly.
What causes dry lips anyway? There are numerous causes but the most common is the lack of humidity. This causes the lips to dry up. When this happens, do not lick your lips because the air will dry your saliva and cause crusting which can eventually lead to cracking. If you don’t have lip balm or petroleum jelly, drink more liquids. At the end of the day, clean your lips with warm soapy water or apply hydrogen peroxide if there is bleeding.
Loved the info. I am definetly picking up a cream ASAP. Thanks Toni! XOXOX's
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Tell me how it works for you. :P
ReplyDeleteI really need to get so heavy duty cream, I hope some other U.k peeps leave me some ideas. I would get this as you make it sound amazing but we cost me a bomb to have it shipped so no point. So how is married life kitten? I hope you are well and wrapping up warm :) I am going to do a makeup haul video this week which should be fun, anyway hugs babe and yes lip balm is a must xxxx
ReplyDelete@Vintage and Cake This cream is amazing. Don't they carry Cetaphil in the U.K.? I've been using this brand since I was in Asia. As long as you get one that's hypoallergenic so you won't get breakouts. You've got to hate that.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing rather well. We're just busy at the moment. Same old same old but great! Yourself? I'll be looking forward to that video!
I love Cetaphil! It's my HG moisturizer :)
ReplyDeleteThat's the one thing I hate about the winter weather, the dryness! Thanks for sharing! I was looking for something moisturizing!
ReplyDeleteCetaphil has been my best friend ever since I have to face winter and the cooler weather in this country. Very good product, love it!
ReplyDeleteHave a blissful day! (:
Sanny's Head to Heart
Cetaphil is such an awesome product. It doesn't work on me but my grandma swear by it. She's been using it forever!!!
ReplyDeleteI really hope you get to visit the Fashion District. I'll be you guide lol.
I'm in avid user of cetaphil! I love it and it works perfect for my sensitive skin.
ReplyDeleteCome enter my holiday giveaway for bakers twine and manila tags!
Cetaphil works for me, I quite like it :D and yeahh chap lips in winter is quite annoying
ReplyDeletethanks for this post, toni! my face is sooo dry and i've been trying to find the perfect remedy. :D
ReplyDeletep.s. i'm glad you got your coffeemaker! :)
<3, Mimi
I need cetaphil in my life. unfortunately, we never have any of the good stuff in the uk, why must we be deprived!!!?? Urgh. xx
ReplyDeleteIf your lips are all hard, crusty or peeling, get a pea-sized amount if Vaseline in your palm add some sugar and scrub and voila nice soft plump lips
ReplyDeleteThank for the comment and for subscribing to my blog. You can always let me know what you like and I will post it.
ReplyDeleteI wish I was in my 20's again..so many pretty things...I am now a follower.
Thanks for the tip about the lips, because whenever I feel them dry I lick them. I will make a concious effort to stop doing that.
ReplyDeleteI've always heard good things about Cetaphil. Once my baby nephew's pediatrician recommended the soap beacuse of a breakout that baby S and his mom had.
Thanks for letting me know about about using the taco mix for a spaguetti sauce!
Thanks for a great review, and the tips about dry lips and lip balm! I get such dry skin in the Winter, I always spend every Winter trying to find the perfect moisturiser! I'm also in the UK, and sadly I don't think we actually can get hold of Cetaphil over here - at least, I've never seen it over here. Will have to investigate and see if I can find it, if it's that good!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit to my blog, btw, and the lovely comment :)

@Tammy Really? It's great for a lot of uses. :)
ReplyDelete@Vanessa Tell me if it works for you! It's doctor recommended too!
@Sanny YAY! It works wonders, eh?
@Everyday Makeup with Becky AWW! You're the first person I've met who's not compatible with this product.
@stephanie I'm glad that you like it too! This is such a great product. <3
@Pop Champagne I like it too! I used to use the facial wash too but I like exfoliating with St.Ives.
@Mimi He's so happy with it so thanks, Mimi! Try Cetaphil since it works on most people.
@DesignerSpray I heard that they don't carry the brand in the UK! AWW! Lancome's moisturizer is great too. :)
@NRC Thanks! I used to exfoliate with sugar and olive oil though the lip balm is more convenient for me since I'm always on the go. It keeps me from picking on my lips.
@Norma Oh thank you! That's so sweet of you! I'll surely let you know as I have something at the top of my head. <3 I don't want to leave my 20's! I bet you had a memorable one.
@Emy You're welcome! I used to lick them so frequently and peel it as well. Try the seasoning with spaghetti sauce and tell me how it works out for you. :)
@Claire Marie Thanks to you too! I heard that they don't have it in the UK so I suggest Lancome which is everywhere. It really is a good product! I'll vouch for it!
I use a thick cream too! The one I am currently obsessed with is Aveeno's Intense Relief healing cream. It comes in the same big tube as your Cetaphil one! :) The one with Aveeno has those natural oats in it that help me with keeping my skin moist :) I also live in California! :D
ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard of Vanicream? I have that as well and comes in a huge tube. It's a bit more greasier but I hear it is the base for most luxury night creams and lotions :p
I'm going to try the cetaphil. Thanks Toni!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI need to try that Cetaphil stuff! I just got some Carmex today, my lips has been crazy chapped lately...
ReplyDeleteI love Cetaphil! I have dry and super sensitive skin, and this did wonders for me! During harsh cold winters I may have to reapply during the day, but generally this would keep my skin moisturized throughout the day. I used to use thick face creams thinking it'd be more effective, but this light moisturizer is one of the best I have come across :):)
ReplyDeleteNew follow!
@Rainy Days and Lattes You're from California too! YAAAY! *sings California Girls* lol. I've heard of Aveeno but I've never used it before so I didn't want to take a risk since I prefer to stick to the ones I know. lol. I use Lancome whenever my Cetaphil bottle is misplaced. I'll surely look at those, thank you! <3
ReplyDelete@Nikki You're welcome! Try it out!
@SiSi I know what you mean, it works well on me.
@VIVILAU I have the same skin type so the cold weather doesn't make it any better. :)) I like to apply mine twice a day since it stays so soft even during the afternoon! This is great, I really like this product!
your review on the cetephil makes me feel like its safe now lol thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love Cetaphil cream! It is one of my skin care staples, especially for winter :)
