I've worn false lashes in the past but never applied it myself so since there was a sale at CVS, I decided to lure my husband there. I did. *teehee*
I purchased an Ardell Fashion Lashes Starter Kit which came with glue, lash applicator and #101 Demi black lashes.
Like everything else in sunny California, the price was subject to 9.75% tax so my total amounted to $7.12
kit
Made from 100% sterilized human hair
Applicator and glue

How I did it:
1. Put a measly amount on a piece of paper and use a toothpick to apply the glue on the lashes. Too much glue is no bueno! You don't want to glue your eyes shut.
Apply the false lashes as close to your lash line as possible using the lash applicator or tweezers (I don't suggest the latter if you have shaky hands) starting from the inner corner of the eye.
2. Use a brow brush to keep the lashes in place upon application or a smaller brush of your choice.
Press and hold it in place for about 30 seconds to a minute until the glue dries.
Then, brush off the excess glue on the lashes to separate them for a more natural effect.
You will achieve this look after the application of false lashes
3. Allow the glue to dry before applying eyeliner then fill the gaps between the lash line with liquid eyeliner.
In the absence of that, use a pencil liner or dab a dark shade of eyeshadow above the tip of the false lashes.
Lastly, once the glue has dried out and after makeup application, gently curl your lashes.
To remove false lashes, use a cotton ball moderately soaked with eye makeup remover.
Never peel off the false lashes without it so as not to pull out any of your natural lashes.
The only downside to this product is that the glue smells like a bunghole.
Excuse my French.
My friends recommended the MAC glue as the best adhesive for false lashes.

I won't be surprised if a lot of you do it differently than I do.
This is how I do it. :)
Practice makes perfect!
This is so hard for me! I always put them on crooked or I dont get it close enough to the lash line! BUT I do love your eyes with them on!
ReplyDeleteOh girl! You should have seen how long it took for me to apply the lashes. I was practicing the entire night. lol. Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteugh i am so jealous! I CAN NEVER get them on, but i keepwanting to try... maybe this is a sign to try? or consider paying someone to do it for me?
ReplyDeleteI suck at applying false lashes as I have very thick STRAIGHT lashes and they get in the way. I was thinking maybe the end ones woulod work best for me but you did a great job with these. Good post.
ReplyDelete@La Cabrona Really? You should try it out! Go to your local CVS or whatevs and try it out, yeah? :P
ReplyDelete@Aggie602 Mine are thick and straight too but a great lash curler can fix that with a good mascara! Thank you. I tried! <3
Great lashes! Love it! Amazing how lashes change the eye so much!! x
ReplyDelete@Sana Thank you! I know, eh? It's so dramatic that it's reminiscent of doll eyes! I used it yesterday and my mother in law was surprised that they were false lashes.
ReplyDeleteThose are cute! One of my new years resolutions is to try false lashes this year, it just seems so intimidating!! Your tutorial helps, thanks:]
ReplyDelete@SiSi Sparkles You should! Believe me, you can do it since I was able to. I didn't know what the hey hey I was doing until I practiced over and over until I got the hang of it. :) Thanks so much! I appreciate it! <3
ReplyDeleteI do the exact same thing--lure my husband to CVS ALL the time. LOL! When I saw you write that it gave me a good laugh. Everytime we drive by a CVS store he'll point out that thats my favorite store--EVERYWHERE we go. LOL!
ReplyDeleteBy the way great job putting on fake lashes. I suck at putting them on but I'm really trying to make it work.
I've tried those before, I agree the glue smells terrible! And sure, I'd love to trade links with you :) I've added you to my blogroll already!
ReplyDelete@yourstrulypam I drag him towards anything that catches my attention and he gives me this "oh no" face. lol. Thank you! I tell you, if I can do it, you can as well. That's for sure. <3
ReplyDelete@Audrey Allure They do have a distinct smell. It bugs me but hey, as long as it works! Lovely! I'll get to it and let you know!
I love wearing fake lashes! They just make such a huge difference! It's awesome. :)
ReplyDeletehahaha! BUNGHOLE! Love your French!
ReplyDeletePractice does make perfect. and once you get it, keep doing it (I mean you don't need falsies every darn day). I used to wear falsies, and could put it on in a heartbeat. Then I didn't wear it for months. . . and its like I'm starting all over again. it takes me forever to get them on. back to practice practice practice! :D
i think it looks good! i've never tried false eyelashes before, i think i just might try it now. :D
ReplyDelete<3, Mimi
oooo these look great on you!!! thanks for the tips!xo
ReplyDelete@Cerina I know, it makes me feel so much better when I have them on! hihi.
ReplyDelete@My-My It does smell like a bunghole... lol. It's foul! I'll tell you that. I would wear it everyday but I don't want to get an eye infection. It takes a while, right? It gets better though. :)
@Mimi You should! I swear, I thought it would be harder than I thought but I did it! :)
@Shayla Thanks and you're welcome!
great tips, thanks for sharing, they look fantastic on you. I've always tried but failed when trying to put them on, but this has inspired me to try again. Thanks :) xxx
ReplyDeletePractice, practice, practice...that's really how you get the hang of it (but it looks like you're pretty much a pro already!). I remember when I first used to try false lashes I really hated them! It's because I didn't how how to apply them though. :o(
ReplyDeleteI always measure them first to make sure they're not too long (they usually were and would poke me, but I thought I looked so cute with my long lashes [and teary eyes]...ayyy Ariana!).
Then I add some DUO glue, wait for it to get tacky and voila!
I do add some mascara after I curl them though because it helps my natural lashes blend in.
Also, I've tried curling my lashes first and then applying the falsies, but that never worked for me because the glue would get on my natural lashes.
...and finally my not-so-secret weapon: transdesign.com
they sell Ardell lashes for less than $3! My favorite are the Daisys.
(It's also where I get my nail polish from ;o] )
I've never tried putting on lashes! You look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteToni, they look so great on you! I tried putting on a pair once, but I didn'T have the patience. I may just have to try it again :-)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried fake eyelashes. I'm thinking now that maybe I should.
ReplyDeleteYour eyes look like Bambi eyes! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is where most of my money goes, false lashes. My girls go through these like crazy, and the glue too. Ive tried buying them the more expensive lashes but found that they don't take care of them so we usually do the $4.00 ones at Walmart. But they like using them almost every day, so it becomes very expensive. But thanks for the heads up on the glue, I know that I have bought many different ones and none are that great so I will go ahead and get the Mac one (once and see if they take care of it). I just wish that they would understand when I say that I am willing to spend more for a better product as long as they take care of it but my China is almost like a wild animal...lol.
But your lashes look FAB, thanks for the post!!
what the fuck is a bunghole? lol
ReplyDelete@Jo Woods AWW Thanks so much! I sincerely appreciate that. I was hoping to push ladies to do this since I was clueless about this until I gave it a try. :)
ReplyDelete@she walks iin beauty That is true! I'm definitely going to visit transdesign.com now. I like this thrifty thing, girly! Thank you! I curled my lashes first at one try and it was okay but it's the same effect as curling them after the application. I did apply a bit of green mascara on the tip to see how it would look but cleaning it is a pain so the following times, I just left it as is.
Careful with the teary eyes, Ariana! lol.
@Miss Tapia YOU will look gorgeous with them! :)
@Emy Go ahead and do so! You really should! They're a riot to put on. You should have seen me nearly hit my face on the mirror. hihi.
@Christina in Wonderland You should! As these ladies have said, they make a huge difference.
@Smash Bravo Team Thank you! I guess my big eyes paid off somehow! They can always reuse the old falsies as long as they clean it with eye makeup remover to cleanse it from the leftover glue and makeup. Yes, try the MAC ones because it works even with just a teensy amount of application. China is funny! She just devours all that makeup as if she goes barbaric at the sight of makeup! lol.
@Twisted Fate An *sshole! lol.
oh! lmao! and yeah he did!
ReplyDeleteAh such a good tutorial :) sometimes I find tutorial confusing but this one defo hits the nail on the head :) and your eyes look amazing! x
ReplyDelete@Twisted Fate Yeah, now you get it? Nasty, eh?
ReplyDelete@Adrienne Thank you! I get confused at times too so I figured to teach people the way I would like to learn it. hihi.
haha :) thats the best way to it.If somebodys tutorial is mega long I sort of switch off attention span of a flea me haha! x
ReplyDelete@Adrienne I do too! LOL. This is why I went straight the point. If it's a video, you'll find me fast forwarding the video multiple times! :))
ReplyDeleteIt took me probably 15 minutes when I applied my eyelashes for the first time lol xD but now i can do it within 3 minutes or so =p practice helps xD
ReplyDelete@Elisa Precisely! It does get easier with practice. It's like a skill. lol.
ReplyDeleteThis is niiiiiice. I've been asked a couple of times about falsies application and I really don't know how to explain it. Haha. You did great with this tutorial!
ReplyDeleteToni, I've been doing the exact same thing the other day. I was sooo frustrated, it was my first try putting on falsies. It took me the whole afternoon to figure it out. Waaa I need a lot of practice on this.
ReplyDelete@Fifi Oh yeah? You should do a video tutorial! I would have done one but I'm such a technological dumb dumb that I wouldn't even know where to begin. Thanks, Fifi! I appreciate it. <3
ReplyDelete@Hollie Really? I hope you have a bit more glue left! lol. I like how it's so much cheaper in the Philippines. I'm going to buy a ton of them when I visit! <3
Hey hun, they look really good! It does take a bit of practice but the outcome is amazing, they really open up your eyes xx
ReplyDelete@♥ Stacey ♥ AWW! Thanks so much! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tutorial!
ReplyDeleteI can't put them on at all they end up looking ridiculous! xx
Beautiful! <3
ReplyDeleteI got the kit a while ago too! :P I should try to use that lash applicator more :p
it susk how they add the tax on afterwards :9 and i lvoe the lashes! nice tutorial ^^ i still havent succeeded in false eyelashes :p
ReplyDeletecool tutorial! I told my friend I want to wear false lashes when we go out because it puts the finishing touches on everything! So now I'm going to practice applying them myself!
ReplyDelete@Courtney You might want to choose the kind of lashes you put on since there's a wide variation of them depending on the volume, design and material. :)
ReplyDelete@*~kAy~* You really should! It's a great kit, huh?
@Hello Naka I know, eh? In the Philippines, everything is tax inclusive so I'm still bummed about how published prices aren't really what they seem. lol.
@Jet-Setting Divas Thank you! Yeah, it really does make a huge difference and it adds flair to the entire look! :)
those look so good on you! very jealous. whenever I had to wear them for dance (since I was 4) they NEVER looked natural on me! lol
ReplyDeletepractice makes perfect!! looks beautifuL~
ReplyDelete@Lex Thanks, Lex! You should try them out and use different kinds until you find one that suits you!
ReplyDelete@mr. pineapple man It really does improve with practice. Thank you!
Oh your are gorgeous with or without false eyelashes! I LOVE the results of how it turned out on you! ^.^ I've only experienced using false eyelashes one time, but next time I try that again I'm coming back to this post and learn to do it the RIGHT way! ^.^ Thanks for the steps and tips! you make it seem so easy lol pretty! i always have to take my time!
ReplyDeleteAs a man, it's always been annoying being told how jealous women are of my eyelashes. I mean, come on, I've been jealous of a woman's mustache before, but I kept that to myself:)
ReplyDelete@hellomissa Thanks! I'm guessing your sister inspired you to blog now? You should try it more often!
ReplyDelete@Mia's Little Corner I just saw the bag. It's fab! I love your creativity!
@Sylvia I barely go out as I'm a home buddy so I wear them when I do get the chance.
@Rinz I know, maybe just a tad? I'll get something cheaper next time. My husband knows how to do that but MAC is too complicated. Isn't it on the manual?
@Cassandra I'm glad that you are! I'll see you around, okay? Thanks Cassie!
@Adelicia Kaya I'm glad that your wound has healed already! Good luck with your exams and thanks. My eyes are pretty big. lol.
@TrinhXO YAY! That was the goal! I took my time after I smeared glue all over my eyelid the first 5 times. lol.
@A Beer for the Shower Maaan... You are hilarious I'm so glad I woke up to this comment. What can I say? Women like to speak their minds! :))
thank you for stopping by my blog :)
ReplyDeletei have always have problem trying to put on fake eye lashes haha. im gonna try your trick now!

ReplyDeleteLove the lashes! & You've been awarded! The Versatile Blogger Award! It's on my page! ;]
ReplyDeleteOh, would that I didn't have a partner who frowns on anything and everything fake! I'd love to have mega-lashes, too, but I'm not prepared for the storm that will come if I ever get eyelash extensions. (Ok, I'm exaggerating. Heh.) I'll probably get away with it but have to endure a lot of eye-rolling from him. Don't get me wrong, he's wonderful, but not even a little bit into fashion and rolls his eyes when I'm being such a girly girl!
ReplyDeleteLoving the effect of the lashes on your eyes! :)
R.A.
i did all the hardwork to connect the freaken printer only to find out that there was no driver for my canon LOLLLLLL it was 3.30 am. darn it.
