Love According to Children

Have you ever seen the show, "Kids Say the Darnest Things" hosted by Bill Cosby? I came across an entry on http://www.articlescopy.com/ about the meaning of love in the eyes of 4-8 year old children. After reading it. I was reminded of the show because of the similar concept. The innocence in their perspective made my heart melt.

The article moved me so much that I rushed to my fiancé and kissed him for no reason at all. Having unconditional requited love is the greatest gift a person can give you. I'm fortunate enough to share a pure relationship with my soul mate.
"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.

You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."

Billy - age 4

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."

Chrissy - age 6

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."

Bobby - age 7

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."

Noelle - age 7

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."

Mary Ann - age 4

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you."

Karen - age 7

And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.

The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry"

I was certain of my love for Jordan when I became eager to wake up each day with a smile on my face. Having him to call my own has given me something to look forward to on a daily basis.

You're in love when you can't help but peek at your significant other even after you've kissed and said good night. Believe me, this is my nightly routine.

  2. Whoa, talk about smothered... JK! That next door neighbor kid sounds like he learned a bad habit. For all we know, next time he sees someone crying in his 20's, he's going to sit on their laps and just help them cry. Creepy.

Your fiancee sounds like a real lucky dude, hope everything works out. Btw, random kisses are pretty cool, be sure to continue doing that. They're a pick-me-up even when a person isn't down.

    Good luck!

  4. I would've been moved.. if I loved kids. I mean, I only like them when they're cute. Those who are not get cold stares from me when they do tantrums in public places.

I like the answer of that first one, Billy, though. Love his name too. :p

Aww. Are you getting married there? I miss the feeling of being in love. :(

  5. @jenroxursox84 I came across it online and I just had to share it. Isn't it sweet?

@Mike This is supposed to be sweet! You little meanie! :)) I'll take any kid as long as s/he isn't a little pain in the ass. I've dealt with too many boogers. lol. He's a great guy so I'm lucky too and the area we're in is safe so no worries. ;)

They better keep their distance from me. ;)

@Lex I read that one and it made me gush! :))

@Vajarl You hate everything in this world, don't you? lol. There's that and grown children in strollers. I hate that so much. Laziness!

Billy is a cute androgynous name. Some kids have so much magic in them. I'm getting married here. I'm basically an immigrant now so I don't know when I'll be visiting the Philippines. Lets see. :)

Yes, that's love, all right. I do this, too, even when I'm pissed off at my fiancé. The first time I noticed that I couldn't stop looking at him lovingly in his sleep, even though he wasn't my favorite person in the world that night, I said to myself, "This is love. This is love, all right."

Awww, love...'tis, indeed, a many splendored thing!
