I'm tired of plain old hotdogs so I figured to add a little pizzazz to it. This is a different approach to a creamy pasta fix for a fraction of the cost.
1/2 cup sour cream
2/3 cup of milk
1 mashed burger patty
2 chicken hotdogs
1 tbs cornstarch
1 tbs melted butter
1/2 pound fettuccine
salt and pepper to taste (you can also add oregano if you wish)
PREPARATION:
Mash the burger patty with your hands. If you don't have this, substitute it with ground beef. (half a tray of ground beef will do)
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
saute onions in a pan with the butter until it's translucent then add the mashed burger patty. Once the patty is halfway cooked, add the chicken slices. The hotdogs do not need to be browned since they're already precooked. Once ready, pour in the milk and sour cream then add in the cornstarch to thicken the mixture. Adjust the consistency to your liking by adding milk and cornstarch. Once the consistency is thick enough, season with salt and pepper. (You may add oregano for taste.)
Use any pasta of your liking. I personally prefer fettuccine with this recipe.
*TIP: Once you've drained your pasta, drizzle some EVOO on it so that the noodles won't stick to each other.
My husband and I enjoy cooking together. We made a great chocolate lava cake last night that I'll share with you next time.
Good eats!
This sounds great and love the twist with the hot dogs. I may use vienna sausage with this recipe. Thanks for the evoo tip very handy.

ReplyDeleteYummy! Looks delish! My hubby and I did the same thing - always going out to dinner or picking something up after work to bring home and we realized it was getting ridiculous so we go grocery shopping a lot more now and I love cooking us dinner. I found these awesome ribs that you just heat up in the oven - so tender and yummy!
ReplyDelete@Lex Hey you! I hope you're doing good! Thanks! Try it out!
ReplyDelete@Leslie Thank you! I know, right? $35 is one typical meal for us at Cheesecake Factory as opposed to $35 that stretches up to a week's worth of food. :) Are you serious!? You gotta tell me about those ribs! My husbands loves ribs.
Is it wrong to crave this pasta dish for breakfast?
ReplyDeleteE says he loves cooking together too! What he really means is that I cook and he eats it - that's together!

I have been doing the same, I love how creative you got with this kitten so good ...I love paste like MAD BIG love !!! Looks yummy and it's great because you are using what you have, I get sick of throwing loads of food away and have been trying to reduce it and use what I have before buying heaps more. Great post, think it will inspire people to get creative and try something different rather than throwing away perfect food to buy more stuff. xxx
