Award Time + Striped Nails

Thank you to the wonderful ladies who have given me awards in the past. I just received five more awards from fellow bloggeristas.

from Leslie , Rinz , TinkerBi and My-My

Thank you!

A quick insert of my sad attempt at coloring my nails.
Mind you, it's nothing out of the ordinary.
My "technique" is rather rudimentary and hey, it's fun!

Place the tape on 3/4 of the nail or less.

By doing that, you'll achieve this look.
Peel a few layers of cotton and wrap it around the nail pusher.
Dip the cotton covered portion of the pusher in nail polish remover and erase unwanted stains.

If you want more stripes, just add more pieces of tape.
Apply the tape horizontally on the nails.

...and voila!

products used:

Scotch tape cut in 1/3 strips
cotton ball wrapped around a nail pusher
OPI black polish
Beauty Rush pink polish
nail polish remover

These photos were taken with my crapola webcam so I'm sorry for the poor quality!
I know, I should definitely get a digital camera. A lot of them are currently on sale so that's a thought!

P.S. I'm going to have an Apothica giveaway on the the 24th so keep your eyes peeled!

HauteLook $2 Urban Decay Haul

Being a member of Haute Look has it's perks! I got Urban Decay items for $2.00 a pop!

Big Fatty Colored Mascara - Flipside (bright teal)
Ink For Eyes - Pyrotechnics (cream liner)
Loose Pigment - Asphyxia (bright pink with a hint of purple)
Loose Pigment - Yeyo (bright white)
Smoke Out Eye Pencil - Maui Wowie (dark khaki)

The packaging looks so chic!

Ink For Eyes - Pyrotechnics
Out of curiosity, I tested the product on my eyelid and there wasn't much of a difference.
I like how the brush is easy to manipulate and that the cream eyeliner applies so smoothly.
The double-ended applicator makes the products easy to use.

Big Fatty Colored Mascara -Flipside
To break away from black mascara, I purchased a bright teal color.
I had to repeatedly apply the mascara for the color to cling on my eyelashes.
It claims to volumize lashes in which this product didn't deliver.
I do enjoy the color as it's a refreshing alternative to black and that it wasn't clumpy at all.

Asphyxia and Yeyo

Eyeshadow looks before and after eyeshadow application.
No mascara or liner.

A combination of Asphyxia and Yeyo,
I used the eyeshadow I applied on my hand.

Asphyxia

Me: Amor, do you see the difference?
*He peers at me*
Jordan: Uhm... It's shiny?

Adds a tinge of color.
It looks heavily pigmented but this is a very light eyeshadow.
I believe it's best to blend with a darker pink shade to achieve the desired effect.

Yeyo

Brings shimmer to your eyes.
This would make a great top coat for any look that needs a wash of color.

Since I didn't want to waste the loose pigment shadows, I used one of my own brushes from my modest brush kit.
It was a gift from my oldest sister after a trip to Hong Kong.

I got another blog award.
Thank you, Jocee!

I'd like to pass this award to:

Blog Awards

Well, well... Holy Frijoles! I just received three blog awards!

I was channeling Shrek L-O-L!

I received the Stylish Blogger Award from Bianca and the Versatile Blogger Award from Dinorah and  Lilit.

Rules from Bianca's award:

1. THANK THE PERSON WHO GAVE YOU THE AWARD
2. LIST 7 THINGS ABOUT YOUR SELF
3. NAME THE BLOGS YOU'D LIKE TO AWARD

Rules from Dinorah and Lilit's awards:

1. Thank and link back to who gave you the award
2. Share 7 things about yourself
3. Pass it along to 7 beauty blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy
4. Leave your recipient a note, telling them about the award

Since the rules are rather similar, I'll list 7 things about myself in stead of summing them up.

7 Toni Tidbits

1. I'm anal retentive to the extent of excessively cleaning everything in sight. I cannot live in a pigsty. It seriously disgusts me.

2. I'm the bargain queen. You can boast of your possessions and it won't impress me. I'm blown away with fashion steals and grocery deals. Lets be practical.

3. I'm a middle child of five children. No, I don't have the supposed feeling of neglect from either parent. If anything, they molded me to develop my creativity.

4. I like to sew and fix things. Ever since I was little, I enjoyed piecing things together and making them look as if they're brand new. The needle in a sewing sense is my friend.

5. My favorite color is red.I'll confess to purchasing items just because they're a luscious shade of red.

6. I'm allergic to seafood and alcohol.

7. I'm not an animal person but since my husband has a bolognese-poodle, I have learned to tolerate them yet I still abhor the shedding, smell, licking and the list goes on.

Now, the hard part. I pass the Versatile Blogger award to:

Blog Award

After roughly two months of blogging, I surprisingly received my first blog award. Novie and Evey kindly bestowed the same award to me a few days ago and just like every other blog accolade, I must pass it to a select few. (Thanks Novie and Evey!)

As much as I'd like to comply with the directions indicated in the entry, I'm modifying it to my own.

Award Instructions:
Grab the award. Post it on your blog with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.

Pay it forward to 15 other bloggers that you have newly discovered.

Contact those blog owners and let them know they've been chosen.
My Version:

Accept the award with a smile on your face! (That's a must.)

Link the award granter's website on your blog entry. (Write their name down - highlight it and click on "link" - insert the person's web address on the space provided.)

Write a short explanation as to why you chose those certain people.

Present the awards to fellow bloggers of your choice.

Contact the selected bloggers and inform them of the awards you're giving out.

Please accept this modest token of appreciation. All bloggers claim that they have the best followers and no matter how hackneyed I don't want this to sound, I have the best followers. My followers participate in my nonsense and comment on posts. Therefore, YOU ROCK!

Enjoy your awards! :)
